Claire Fauquier joined Highland in April 2019 after spending three and a half years at Corigin, a seed fund based in New York, where she sourced and led several deals and worked closely with founders on company boards. She was initially drawn to venture capital because of the opportunity to work so closely with founders and join them on their journey of sculpting the future. Says Claire, “What I love most about this role is that I get to spend most of my time with the best and brightest people in the world.
“I started at Corigin in 2015 after completing my MBA at Wharton, where I focused on startups, having worked at the London-based startup Ebury for my summer internship. Immediately prior to starting at Wharton, I took a year off to travel, with stops in Europe and Nairobi, Kenya. While in Kenya, I worked with a growth fund called Jacana Partners, actively sourcing deals and working with portfolio companies.
“I started my career in Investment Banking with Credit Suisse, both in Toronto and New York. I grew up in Toronto and consider myself a proud Canadian, boring my colleagues with all things Toronto Sports. I live in Brooklyn and love tennis, skiing, art & photography and going to concerts.”
